There are plenty of manager jobs out there that are definitely worth looking into if you are wanting to further your career. These jobs can be difficult to get, however, so you will want to make sure that you work hard and eventually you might be in a position to take one of them. CEO and COO are two of the executive jobs that you are likely familiar with, as the people who hold these jobs handle many of the issues that arise within an organization and are also give a great deal of credit when things go right. Before you begin your request to become a CEO or COO, it is probably a good idea to figure out exactly what these careers entail.

A CEO is responsible for a public relations role, as most people on the outside will perceive this individual as the head of the company. Even though this person usually still answers to a board of directors, there is a great deal of power and prestige involved with becoming a CEO, as you will be the head of many different things within the organization. Firstly, these manager jobs call for you to be in charge of each individual department within the company. This means that you will have to hire people who can run each of these departments and have the vision to put the company on the right path.

The people that you hire will help to instill a certain culture within the organization as well, so you will be responsible for how this culture turns out. Overall, these executive jobs are not for the faint of heart, as this will become a 24 hour per day and seven day per week type of career that will give you very little downtime. For some people, this commitment is work it but for others, it definitely is not, so you must decide which type of person you are before taking one of these jobs.



A COO is another type of managerial job, except for much of this job is done behind the scenes. The COO must take information from the board of directors and make sure that the company implements these strategies on a daily basis. This is most business strategies that the company wants to be used, which means that the COO must have an extensive background in the business world. If this strategy is not properly implemented, these manager jobs will not last long, so taking the time to do things right is of the utmost importance.

Both of these executive jobs are outstanding career choices, as long as the individual has the experience and the drive to succeed. In some cases, individuals will crack under the pressure, especially if they have never been in charge of such a large part of the business before. Good CEOs and COOs are able to handle this pressure easily and deal with every problem that arises individually, which is why it takes a special type of person to handle one of the diverse roles in the business world.
