A CEO is responsible for a public relations role, as most people on the outside will perceive this individual as the head of the company. Even though this person usually still answers to a board of directors, there is a great deal of power and prestige involved with becoming a CEO, as you will be the head of many different things within the organization. This is most business strategies that the company wants to be used, which means that the COO must have an extensive background in the business world. If this strategy is not properly implemented, these manager jobs will not last long, so taking the time to do things right is of the utmost importance.
Both of these executive jobs are outstanding career choices, as long as the individual has the experience and the drive to succeed. In some cases, individuals will crack under the pressure, especially if they have never been in charge of such a large part of the business before. Good CEOs and COOs are able to handle this pressure easily and deal with every problem that arises individually, which is why it takes a special type of person to handle one of the diverse roles in the business world.
