The Managing Director of Alternative Risk Transfer & Innovation is integral to the Strategic Solutions & Innovation Practice of building and scaling Aon's alternative risk capabilities by collaborating across the firm. To be successful, this individual will need creative problem-solving skills, outstanding technical broking competence, and strong communication skills to work closely with a wide variety of clients and Aon's Solutions to deliver growth. Our smart working policy provides the flexibility to work from one of our offices in Chicago, New York, or San Francisco.Aon is in the business of better decisions.At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich people's lives worldwide. As part of an industry-leading team, you will collaborate with internal colleagues to deliver innovative alternative risk solutions to address the emerging needs of our clients. What will the day look like?The leader will drive the execution of the key initiatives, which will include some combination of the following: Collaborate with Commercial Risk clients and colleagues to develop new value-generating ideas and alternatives to traditional risk transfer approaches to facilitate client decision-making, help navigate volatility, and effectively match capital to risk.Engage with account executives and brokers throughout the renewal process to uncover unique but significant challenges that warrant consideration of alternative solutions.Collaborate with the team to develop and implement processes to improve client service and replicate growth.Drive Commercial Risk priorities, including strategic solutions and innovation, thought leadership, and the adoption of risk analytics and related tools.Leads Delivering Aon United processes through the contribution to RFP project responses.Build an agenda with other Aon teams (e.g., Affinity and other groups passionate about innovation) to find opportunities to develop Aon-specific MGAs and similar aggregation vehicles and concepts. Skills and experience that will lead to successMinimum of 10 years of broking, account management, or insurance experience.Experience in parametric insurance, multi-year structured programs, multi-line risk transfer, captive aggregate stop loss solutions, or other innovative risk solutions.Proven thought leadership and revenue growth success.Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide insight and recommendations via creative solutions to complex problems.Entrepreneurial approach and willingness to challenge status quo ideas.Ability to navigate a complex matrix environment across various functional, business, and geographic leaders while motivating and encouraging others.Education - Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of industry experience. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary.
