Description
The Associate VP - Portfolio Management and PMO collaborates with the business portfolio team to align the IT portfolio and demand. The position requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the segment and the enterprise, and a strong ability to look horizontally across the organization to connect dots. The Associate VP - Portfolio Management and PMO provides 'situational awareness' across the segment technology investments and delivery portfolio.
Responsibilities
The Associate VP - Portfolio Management and PMO organizes and prioritizes projects and programs based on IT Strategy, strategic roadmap, available and prioritized budgets, changes schedules and ensures that the appropriate financial and organizational support is being allocated in support of those goals. Decisions are typically related to intradepartmental coordination, development and implementation of strategic plans, and business outcomes, and develops and implements strategic plans for the scope of management that are aligned with the Segment or Business strategy. The emphasis on financial acumen cannot be overstated here, so if your PMO experience is limited to IT service strategy, scheduling, standards and delivery this may not be the role for you.
Responsibilities Include:
As a key leader within the team, be able to evaluate strategic technology investments and execution from a financial perspective with particular focus on technology valuation, launch and ongoing execution assessment, value-realization and tracking, and risk mitigation.
Internal Venture Capital mindset, knowing the emerging technology landscape, and understand the financial due-diligence process associated with investment prioritization and enterprise funding techniques
Be able to grasp technical processes and systems architecture, HW and SW jargon, and have working knowledge and experience with technology
Assist in analysis of 3rd party vendor technology, assess core capabilities and unique IP, and perform valuation on IP
Storytelling to simplify complex scenarios in presentations
Contribute to the vision and roadmap of our overall Group technology products and services
Collaborate with team members to create executive recommendations on technology
Lead peers and segment partners through financial forecasting, annual prioritization, and rolling budgets with an understanding of capital budgets and opex impacts
Lead a PMO, and position talent for the future of work with Agile
Contribute to a community of practitioners in other segments
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
3 years in technology-related investment/financial analysis
2 years of any of the following: product management, business strategy, technical project management, innovation management, strategy consulting, working with analytics and translating metrics, research, and trends into strategy
2 years of venture or corporate capital investment analysis and executive management reporting
Demonstrated experience partnering and communicating with senior-executives
Self-starter and fast learner, as well as Team player
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or Masters in equivalent business / finance area preferred. Degree in Engineering, CS, or similar technical background strongly preferred
Background in venture capital or entrepreneur/angel investing
